A Journey to Spring
9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.

A Journey to Spring Gillespie Center, 2590 Commerce Blvd., Mound. Join us for a slide presentation by Dr. Harold Pellet, founder and director of the Landscape Plant Development Center. View beautiful selections from his travels to the Denver Botanic Garden and the Betty Ford Alpine Garden in Colorado. There is no better way to spend a cold January morning than viewing gardens in full bloom, enjoy a hot drink and chat with fellow plant lovers. Session is free and open to the public.

Spring is the Time for Maple Syrup

A collaborative Garden Gab session with the Westonka Historical Society. Learn about the history of Maple Syrup making in Mound, once home to one of the premier maple syrup enterprises in the United States. Listen to speakers talk about the maple syrup process, how this affects trees, and how you can tap into this wonderful resource. Free and open to the public.

Starting Seeds for Spring
9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
By March we are itching to plant something so why not learn what you can successfully plant during the transition from late winter to early spring. Learn what cool season flowers and vegetables will fulfill the desire to dig in the soil after a long winter. Get a jump on your garden season with this exciting program and have flowers blooming by May 1 and harvest cool season vegetables for the fresh taste of spring. Westonka Horticultural Society members free, non-members $5 donation.
