Growing Contributions

“When you learn, teach. When you get, give.” - Maya Angelou

As any nonprofit can attest, funding is always a challenge. Here at the Westonka Horticultural Society we view funding received as an opportunity to plant knowledge in the minds of those wishing to learn more about responsible and sustainable gardening and landscaping. Because of our members and your contributions, we can provide quality learning opportunities through programs such as Garden Gab sessions and the Westonka Horticulture Day conference. See how you can help us through the programs listed below.

GIVE AND GROW - Spring is in the air!
The Give and Grow spring fund raising program is back. Thanks to Otten Bros. Nursery in Long Lake, the Westonka Horticultural Society will benefit from your spring gardening shopping. Whether it is pansies for the cool spring nights, perennials for the long summer days, trees to share from the heat of July and August or a new landscape design, every item you purchase at Otten Bros. Nursery between May 1 and May 31, Otten’s will donate 10% of your pre-tax purchase back to the Westonka Horticultural Society. AND, for 2010, if you book a landscaping project, 5% of your pre-tax dollars will be return to WHS.

Treat yourself to a few new perennials or a new shrub or tree while giving to the Westonka Horticultural Society. Just print the flyer and take it to Otten’s Bros. Nursery in Long Lake or to the Flower Farm in Delano. Present it at the check out and the Westonka Horticultural Society will benefit from your shopping pleasures.

Keep a stack of these flyers in your car - you never know when that impromptu moment hits to stop and shop for plants at Otten Bros. You can bring in a new flyer each day! Give the flyer to family and freinds and encourage them to shop at Otten Bros. during the month of May as well - spread the good feeling of both gardening and giving! And by the way, it works for gift giving ideas as well. Need a birthday gift, anniversary gift or any other type of gift - Otten’s has it all AND, 10% of your purchase will come back to the Westonka Horticultural Society.
